Bio Spot 1

Sadaf Haq was born in New York State and raised next to Fort Drum Army Base, where she attended public schools before earning a Bachelors in biology and a Masters in Public Health from SUNY-Albany. She went on to work in public health for the State of New York, Humana, Inc., and the University of Miami. She has been published twice in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. With her husband, Dr. Adeel Haq, she co-founded a medical practice in Frisco, where the Haqs currently live with their three daughters.

 

Sadaf serves on numerous community, civic and charitable boards, including the Leadership Frisco Advisory Council, the Texas Healthcare Advisory Council and the Texas Health Resources Community Impact Council for Collin County.  She was appointed to the City of Frisco's first-ever Inclusion Committee, and is serving a third term on the City of Frisco Social Services and Housing Board, which she also chairs. Sadaf is an appointee to two Frisco ISD citizen committees: Diversity Task Force and Student Healthcare Advisory Committee. She serves on the boards of Frisco Fastpacs, Maus Middle School PTA, and MuslimAidUSA, a humanitarian and disaster relief global organization. She is a member of all 65 Frisco ISD PTA chapters, a Platinum Supporter of Frisco Police Officers Association, and an active member of Frisco Women's League, Frisco Interfaith Alliance, and the Islamic Center of Frisco.

 

Sadaf founded Frisco Day of Service, a one-day event that recognizes the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a community service program honoring volunteerism, which just had its third annual gathering. She just completed a fellowship in the New Leaders Council Class of 2021, and recently had her first children’s book published, Once Upon a Ramadan

Lisa Vernon, LMSW attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Masters in Social Work. She is Coordinator of Student and Family Services for Frisco Independent School District, for whom she has worked since 2006, focusing primarily on children, adolescents, and young adults. Her areas of expertise are family care, individual life skills counseling, psycho-social support, and EAP services through referrals.

 

Lisa is a frequent presenter of keynotes and educational programs, and has presented to statewide audiences, many focused on Social-Emotional Learning -- on which she is a subject-matter expert. She also serves on the Texas Health Advisory Council.

Larry Bisno is Compliance Officer & Director of Strategic Initiatives for Health Services of North Texas (HSNT), which includes the Collin County Medical Center in Plano, Wylie Children’s Medical Clinic and 4 clinics in Denton -- serving primary care adults, pediatrics, prenatal and infectious disease. In this role with HSNT, Larry is responsible for identifying unmet or underserved needs in our community as they relate to the health of children and adults; and finding approaches to make sure their needs are met, as well as all aspects of compliance. He has been with HSNT for almost nine years; prior, Larry served in senior leadership roles with Islamic Relief USA and a Dallas based non-profit working to improve the quality of education for economically disadvantaged preschoolers. 

 

Larry came to the NGO/non-profit world after 28 years working with national and international advertising agencies. He has a BS in Early Childhood Development/Special Education, an MS in Developmental Psychology/Early Childhood Development, and a Masters in Business Administration. In addition to his work with HSNT and service to Be In Health, Larry serves Muslim Aid USA as a board member and past president, and Rotary Club of Plano (as a board member and past secretary). He is also a former appointee to the City of Plano Community Relations Commission, and a past board member of Denton Musical Theatre as well as the Collin County Children’s Health and Wellness Alliance.

Anne McCausland was born in Dallas and grew up in Grapevine. She graduated from Baylor with a degree in Entrepreneurship/Marketing. Upon graduation, she worked in software support for several local technology companies, before obtaining a nursing degree. Anne and her husband Jim moved to Frisco in 1992 and have two children, Jameson and Monica.

 

Anne became involved in PTA in 2001 and served in several leadership roles at the local chapter and district council level, including President of the Frisco Council of PTAs from 2009-2011. She was elected to the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees in 2011, and served as Board President and Board Secretary for three years each. Anne is involved in many different service organizations including Frisco Women’s League, Dallas North Cities Delta Gamma Alumnae, Frisco Allen Area Texas Alumnae Panhellenic, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178. Anne is also an avid cat foster and rescue volunteer with Habitat 4 Paws. She is  a Leadership TASB Master Trustee 2015, received the Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Award 2007, the Texas PTA Extended Service Award 2011, and received the 2019 Spirit of Frisco award from the Frisco Chamber of Commerce.

Peter Burns has over 30 years of leadership and management experience. His professional background includes 20 years of service with the United States Army Signal Corps (retired), and Peter recently retired after 21 years at Nokia as the Commercial Tendering Manager for North America. Peter is the President and CEO of the Bridge Delivery Service, a last-mile delivery partner for Amazon Logistics. Peter has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and completed the Entrepreneurial Development series with the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).


Peter is actively involved in his church and his community, serving as a Board member for the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, Frisco Education Foundation, Frisco Public Art Board and Junior Achievement of Dallas. He serves on the Leadership Frisco Advisory Council, is Program Manager for the Frisco Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) and is Chairman of FISD's Mindbender Academy, a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEaM) camp that encourages students to consider STEAM as a profession.


Peter has been honored with a Congressional Veteran Commendation, was named 2019 Frisco Distinguished Veteran of the Year, 2017 Frisco Style Magazine Person of the Year, and 2014 Frisco Chamber Citizen of the Year. Peter and his wife Dana live in Frisco and have three children and three grandchildren.

Dr. Hena Zaki is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who has been in practice for over 15 years. She was raised in New York, where she completed medical school at the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine. She later moved to Plano and completed her Family Medicine residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center.  She has spent a large part of her career working with medically underserved communities and has always been interested in patient wellness and disease prevention through education and breaking barriers to healthcare. She is fluent in Spanish and Urdu/Hindi.  She currently resides in Plano, Texas, with her husband and 4 kids. In her free time she enjoys reading, nature walks, healthy cooking and meditation/prayer.
